Azerbaijan Tourism Board (ATB) presents the country’s diverse tourism offerings at ITB Berlin 2026, the leading international trade fair of the global travel and tourism industry, held from 3 to 5 March in Berlin, Germany.
Azerbaijan was represented by 13 local industry partners, including hiking companies, hotels, DMCs, and the national air carrier Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), showcasing the country’s rich tourism potential and strengthening its visibility in Germany through a series of B2B meetings held within the framework of the exhibition.
During the event, visitors were able to immerse themselves in the country’s rich cultural heritage, breathtaking landscapes, and wide range of tourism opportunities through virtual reality (VR) technology. The experience was further enriched by tastings of traditional Azerbaijani sweets, tea, and wine, which provided an introduction to the nation’s culture and traditions.
Mr. Nasimi Aghayev, Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Germany, also visited the national stand
As part of the exhibition programme, a thematic presentation highlighting Azerbaijan’s hiking routes and Silk Road heritage will take place at the “Experience Azerbaijan” stand under the theme “Hidden Gems: Discovering Authentic Experiences“.
In addition to its participation at ITB Berlin, ATB further strengthened the country's visibility in Germany by positioning Azerbaijan as a key tourism destination through a dedicated presentation for members of the German Travel Association (DRV) at the Azerbaijan Cultural Center in Berlin, followed by a series of official meetings with key industry professionals.
Travel to Azerbaijan has also been made increasingly accessible for German travelers, with direct flights from Berlin and Frankfurt to Baku by Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) and Lufthansa. German citizens could apply for an e-VISA through evisa.gov.az 3 working days before their planned arrival date, or opted for an urgent visa, which was processed within 3 to 5 hours. The visa is valid for 90 days, during which German travelers could visit Azerbaijan for up to 30 days at a time.
Reflecting the ease of accessibility, the number of visitors from Germany increased by 11% in 2025 compared to the same period in 2024.
