The State Tourism Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Azerbaijan Tourism Board (ATB) participated in the International Tourism Forum “Travel HUB Commonwealth,” held on 7-9 April in Minsk, Belarus, which brought together tourism authorities, industry representatives, and experts from across the CIS to discuss key trends and opportunities shaping regional tourism development.
As part of the Azerbaijani delegation, Kanan Guluzade, Advisor to the Chairman of the State Tourism Agency, and Jalal Ismayilov, Director of the Representative Office of ATB in Russian Federation, participated in three panel discussions on key tourism segments. These included gastro and agritourism, as well as active and eco experiences, alongside the roundtables “Gastronomic Brands as a Tool for Destination Promotion,” “Agritourism in the CIS,” and “Active and Ecological Tourism in the CIS.”
During the discussions, the delegation delivered destination presentations highlighting Azerbaijan’s diverse tourism offerings and its growing appeal as a year-round destination for CIS travelers, including its rich culinary heritage, agritourism experiences, and nature-based travel. Particular focus was placed on regional gastronomy, wine routes, farm-based tourism, and outdoor experiences in mountain and rural areas.
As part of the forum, the Azerbaijani delegation met with Kirill Masharsky, Head of the National Tourism Agency of Belarus. The discussion focused on strengthening cooperation between the State Tourism Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the National Tourism Agency of Belarus, with an emphasis on mutually increasing tourism flows and further enhancing bilateral ties.
Participation in the forum further continued with meetings with leading Belarusian tour operators to explore collaboration opportunities with the Belarusian travel trade and discuss enhancing tourism exchange between the two countries.
