Azerbaijan Tourism Board (ATB), together with 4 local tourism industry partners, represented Azerbaijan at PATA Travel Mart (PTM) 2026, held in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia.
As one of the leading travel trade exhibitions in the Asia-Pacific region, PTM 2026 provided a platform for Azerbaijan to present its tourism offerings to international travel professionals. Represented with a national stand, the country showcased its diverse tourism products and opportunities while holding business meetings with potential partners from key international markets.
The event brought together tourism companies specialising in leisure and luxury travel, business events (MICE), and other segments. Participants included tourism agencies, tour operators and industry representatives from Europe, CIS, South and Southeast Asia, the Middle East, East Asia, Africa and the Pacific region.
Business meetings held during the event focused on promoting Azerbaijan as a destination, exploring new cooperation opportunities and strengthening existing partnerships with international travel industry representatives.
Following PTM 2026, ATB took part in the World Islamic Tourism & Trade Expo (WITEX 2026), which was held in Kuala Lumpur.
Organised by the Malaysia Tourism Agency Association (MATA), WITEX 2026 brought together government representatives, tourism industry leaders and international stakeholders, providing a platform for business networking and the exchange of ideas across the Islamic tourism economy. The event also highlighted the growing halal tourism sector, showcasing halal-friendly travel experiences, products and services from destinations and tourism businesses around the world. It also offered opportunities to software solutions for tourism and connect with local and international suppliers.
Azerbaijan’s participation in these two major events strengthened the country’s engagement with the Southeast Asian tourism market, supported the development of new international business partnerships and contributed to increasing the visibility of Azerbaijan’s tourism offering among travel industry professionals in the region.
