Azerbaijan Tourism Board (ATB) hosted a familiarisation trip for a delegation of Serbian media representatives, coinciding with the launch of Air Serbia’s direct flights between Baku and Belgrade. The group included 12 representatives from leading Serbian media outlets, along with two representatives of Air Serbia.
Over the trip, the delegation explored some of Baku's most significant cultural and tourism landmarks, including Icherisheher (Old City), Heydar Aliyev Centre, Gobustan State Reserve, Mud Volcanoes Tourism Complex. Guided city tours offered the group a grounded introduction to Azerbaijan's cultural heritage and tourism potential, complemented by a gastronomy masterclass showcasing the country's national cuisine. Participants were also briefed on the summer tourism opportunities available at Sea Breeze Resort.
The programme included a visit to the Baku General Directorate for Architecture and Urban Planning, where Baku’s Master Plan for 2040 was presented. Preparations for the 13th World Urban Forum (WUF13), scheduled to take place in Baku from 17-22 May, were also outlined. Delegates additionally briefed about the Baku White City, gaining insight into the city’s ongoing and completed urban planning projects.
Reflecting the cultural ties between the two nations, the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Azerbaijan organised a joint classical music concert at the Azerbaijan State Academic Philharmonic Hall.
Citizens of Azerbaijan and Serbia benefit from a mutual visa-free regime. Air Serbia now operates twice-weekly direct flights on the Baku-Belgrade route on Thursdays and Sundays, a connection expected to strengthen tourism exchange between the two countries.
