With its rich Silk Road heritage, vibrant capital and year-round mountain experiences, Azerbaijan presented its diverse tourism potential to Czech travel professionals at the AVIAREPS Around the World Roadshow 2026, held on 19–20 October in Prague and Brno. Organised by AVIAREPS, an international representation, marketing and public relations company specialising in aviation, tourism and hospitality, the event brought Azerbaijan's tourism offerings to the attention of the Czech travel market.
The programme featured meetings with around 40 travel agents and tour operators, providing an opportunity to showcase Azerbaijan's appeal to travellers seeking cultural experiences and outdoor adventures. Baku's historic landmarks and contemporary city life, Shaki's Silk Road heritage and the country's rich cultural traditions were among the highlights. Skiing in the Greater Caucasus Mountains and hiking through diverse natural landscapes further demonstrated the destination's year-round appeal, while discussions with travel professionals explored opportunities for future cooperation.
Direct flights between Prague and Baku operated by Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) offered convenient connections for Czech travellers. The country's electronic visa system also made travel planning more accessible, allowing Czech citizens to apply through evisa.gov.az, with standard applications processed within three working days and urgent applications within three to five hours. The e-visa was valid for 90 days and permitted stays of up to 30 days.
Azerbaijan's participation came amid growing interest from the Czech market, with visitor arrivals from Czechia increasing by 10.5% in January–September 2026 compared with the same period in 2025. Building on this positive trend, the roadshow provided a valuable platform to strengthen professional connections, expand awareness of Azerbaijan's tourism experiences and encourage new partnerships that could bring more Czech travellers to the destination.
