Azerbaijan and China strengthen tourism cooperation at CITM 2025

Azerbaijan and China have discussed further opportunities to enhance bilateral tourism cooperation during the China International Travel Mart (CITM 2025).

The country’s tourism potential was presented at CITM 2025 by Azerbaijan Tourism Board together with Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), Shahdag Mountain Resort.

As part of the visit to China, Fuad Naghiyev, Chairman of the State Tourism Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan, met with Sun Yeli, Minister of Culture and Tourism of the People’s Republic of China, on 17 December in Beijing. The meeting focused on expanding tourism ties, with both sides highlighting the positive impact of closer political and economic relations and the mutual visa-free regime on growing tourist flows.

During the exhibition, Gao Zheng, Vice Minister of the Chinese Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and Zurab Pololikashvili, Secretary-General of the UN Tourism Organization, visited the national stand and met with Fuad Naghiyev to discuss future cooperation.

“Experience Azerbaijan” stand was recognized with the “Best Booth” award.
