Under the agreement, Fly Khiva will continue operating charter flights between Tashkent and Ganja every Sunday. Starting from 1 July 2026, the frequency of the service will increase to two weekly flights, operating on Wednesdays and Saturdays, providing greater convenience and accessibility for travellers from Uzbekistan.
The route has been designed primarily to support health and wellness tourism to Naftalan, one of Azerbaijan's renowned therapeutic destinations. Passengers arriving in Ganja will be provided with dedicated ground transfers to Naftalan, ensuring a seamless travel experience.
The signing ceremony was attended by Florian Sengstschmid, CEO of the Azerbaijan Tourism Board, Uyqar Koças, Chief Executive Officer of TABIA Group, Ibrahim Ibrahimov, Chief Commercial Officer of TABIA Group, and Imran Nazarov, advisor to Advisor to the Director General for Tourism Development.
During his speech, Florian Sengstschmid, CEO of the Azerbaijan Tourism Board, emphasized the role of connectivity in fostering closer ties between people and cultures. He noted that the new Tashkent-Ganja route will make Azerbaijan's unique wellness destination, Naftalan, more accessible to travellers from Uzbekistan and highlighted the combination of the country's centuries-old health traditions and infrastructure as a distinctive offering for international visitors.
The growing connectivity between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan is already reflected in visitor numbers. During January-May 2026, the number of visitors from Uzbekistan to Azerbaijan increased by 55% compared to the same period in 2025, reaching 28,214 visitors.
